Surrender
An act of faith
Thank you so much to everyone who submitted! It warms our hearts to see fellow humans share a piece of themselves and their perspectives — vulnerability isn’t easy.
Below are links to all the submissions. We encourage you to read them all and share words & letters with friends if you think they’d be interested in joining our little corner of the internet.
Next week’s word is home. Please submit here by May 3rd, 2024!
Thanks to Jordan for the suggestion!
We can’t wait to hear from you :)
Surrender
Jordan, 17 — Florida
"because jumping seems so scary if you only imagine the fall."
Kenzi, 24 — Brooklyn
“Perhaps the surrender, even the death of corporate Kenzi, is a necessary one. Maybe his remains will scatter, dancing in the wind, flying amongst the birds, floating down the river, at the mercy of nature, fate, destiny, God? And maybe when he finally lands, he finds himself a home more beautiful than one he could ever imagine.”
Dennis, 25 —Manhattan
Leaves don’t decide their texture or shape. Swaying without complaint even as the caterpillar nibbles. Water doesn’t decide to be muddy or clear. Nor does it care, whether it flows or stills. Clouds don’t wonder if they’re lumpy or curvy. Passing through, neither fast, nor slow.
